IOWA CITY, Iowa - The University of Iowa Department of Preventive
Medicine and Environmental Health invites women age 50 to 79 to participate
in a new osteoporosis research study. This study will gather information
about normal values of bone density in women of different ages. It also
will compare a new method of measuring bone density with one that is currently
available. Women past menopause must not be using estrogen replacement,
Fosamax or calcitonin.
Volunteers will attend one clinic appointment at the UI Hospitals and
Clinics to have bone density measurements and a forearm X-ray. The appointment
will last approximately two hours. Compensation is available. For more
information, call 319-335-6628 or 1-800-348-4692.
