Expert on electronic communication in medicine to lecture at UI
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Dr. Robert S. Sikorski, co-founder of Medsite Navigator,
a guide to digital science and medicine on the Internet, will speak about
the role and potential for electronic communication in medicine Tuesday,
Feb. 17. The lecture will be at 4 p.m. in the Medical Alumni Auditorium,
Room E-331 General Hospital, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Sikorski, an editor of the journals Science and The Journal of the American
Medical Association (JAMA), is on leave from the National Institutes of
Health in Bethesda, Md., to form the Internet informatics company, Medsite
Communications. The Boston-based company applies Internet-based solutions
to the biomedical sector. Sikorski is working on Internet projects involving
clinical trials, genetic information and AIDS.
This event is presented by the UI College of Medicine students and the
UI College of Medicine Lecture Committee. The UI College of Medicine designates
this continuing medical education activity for one credit hour. The lecture
is free and open to the public.
