UI to hold last campus planning meetings April 29
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa will hold its last campus
planning meetings for students, faculty and staff Wednesday, April 29.
Three identical sessions have been planned to accommodate individual schedules:
* 1-2:30 p.m., Quadrangle Residence Hall, Recreation Room 1105 (across
the hall from the cafeteria);
* 3:30-5 p.m., English-Philosophy Building, Room 427; and
* 7-8:30 p.m., Shambaugh Auditorium, UI Library.
Sponsored by the UI Campus Planning Committee and the Campus Planning
Office, the meetings are the last in a series dealing with such issues
as open spaces, buildings, pedestrian and car routes, parking, and the
general appearance of the UI campus. They will include the presentation
of a draft plan, based upon ideas offered at previous sessions, for the
physical development of campus.
Larry Wilson, UI campus planner, says the meetings will be an opportunity
for participants to suggest what improvements should be made to the draft
plan. "We want to know whether or not the input we received has been
appropriately incorporated into the plan," he says. Background information,
results of previous meetings and a copy of the draft plan can be found
on the Campus Planning Committee web page at: http:/www.uiowa.edu/~cpc/.
Persons requiring an accommodation to attend the free, public meetings
are asked to call the UI Facilities Services Group at 335-1205.
