Expert on school leadership leads seminar Oct. 31 in UI-based program
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Dean Fink, an expert on school leadership and change
in Canada, will lead a day-long seminar on "Linking School Effectiveness
and Improvement" Friday, Oct. 31 in a session sponsored by the Institute
for School Executives (ISE) of the University of Iowa College of Education.
The seminar will be at the Highlander Inn, 2525 N. Dodge St., Interstate
80 and Highway 1, in Iowa City. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the session
runs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The seminar is open to the public but requires a $40 registration fee
for members of ISE and a $75 fee for non-members.
Fink is a fellow at the University of Humberside in Ancaster, Ontario.
A former superintendent of schools, Fink has 34 years of experience in
public education in Canada, including 20 years as a district leader.
He is a co-author of the book, "Changing Our Schools."
The session is approved for Department of Education Renewal Units (DERU).
People interested in DERU credits must register between 7:45 a.m. and 8
a.m. and must attend a session from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
