Football fans urged to avoid using Dubuque Street exit for Indiana
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Football fans attending the University of Iowa football
team's Homecoming game with Indiana are urged to avoid using the Dubuque
Street exit from Interstate 80 into Iowa City. An Iowa City water main
construction project is causing congestion on Dubuque Street between Park
Road and the UI's Mayflower Residence Hall.
Construction will be halted this Saturday for the football game, but
the number of lanes will still be reduced in the construction zone because
one lane of traffic has been converted to use for pedestrians and bicycle
Fans traveling westbound on I-80 can use Exit 246 (Dodge Street) and
follow DOT "Football Stadium Exit" signs along that route. Exit
249 (Hoover Highway) can also be used to get into Iowa City.
