College of Nursing unveils centennial logo

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa College of Nursing has unveiled the logo it developed as part of the centennial celebration of nursing education at the university. The logo will appear on various materials prepared and distributed in conjunction with the centennial celebration. It was designed by Steven Warner, a graphics technician at the college.

The centennial celebration, "Sustaining a Tradition," will be April 2-4, 1998 on the UI campus. Invitations will be extended to all alumni of the nursing school, encouraging them to return to campus for the event.

Activities will include presentations on the past, present and future of the profession. Guests and speakers will include the past deans of the college, as well as distinguished graduates of the nursing school.

The UI College of Nursing currently offers bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees in nursing, as well as a wide variety of continuing education programs for nurses in Iowa and the Midwest. The college is acknowledged as a world leader in nursing education and in gerontological research. Each year, approximately 425 students are enrolled in the college, with thousands more taking part in continuing education programs at sites across the state.
