UI surgeon elected secretary of Midwestern Association of Plastic Surgeons
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- A University of Iowa College of Medicine professor
has been elected secretary of the Midwestern Association of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Phyllis Chang, UI associate professor of plastic and reconstructive
surgery, was elected at the association's annual meeting in St. Louis in
The association is dedicated to the continuing education of plastic
surgeons. Its membership includes plastic surgeons from 11 midwestern states.
Chang received her bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Vassar College
in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., in 1976 and her medical degree from Union University
in Albany, N.Y., in 1980. She did postgraduate work at Albany Medical Center
Hospital, the University of Chicago Hospitals and New York University Medical
Center before coming to the UI in 1989.
