UI College of Medicine sponsors menopause course

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa College of Medicine is sponsoring a one-day menopause course on July 19 from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the Hampton/Clarion Inn in Iowa City.

The course is designed for the general public and will discuss the causes and symptoms of menopause, as well as options for symptom management. UI doctors, dietitians, registered nurses and counselors will teach a series of half-hour classes on topics such as diet and exercise, emotional well-being and estrogen therapy.

The course is co-sponsored by the UI departments of internal medicine and obstetrics and gynecology. A $25 registration fee includes tuition, symposium handouts, a coffee break and lunch. To register for the course or to request more information, call (319) 335-8599.
