UI slates meeting to discuss Cambus service for Hawkeye Family Housing
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Plans for providing Cambus service to Hawkeye Family
Housing will be discussed at a public meeting Thursday, July 17, at noon
in Room 101 of the Becker Communication Studies Building on the campus
of the University of Iowa. Members of the public are invited to attend
the meeting and provide input on the proposed changes.
David Ricketts, UI director of parking and transportation, will lead
a discussion of the proposed service for the family housing units located
on the far west edge of the UI campus. That service is scheduled to begin
August 25, the first day of classes for the 1997-98 academic year. The
proposal calls for daytime, weekday service to the area, which previously
has not been served by Cambus.
Ricketts will also explain proposed changes to other Cambus routes.
Those changes are necessary because Cambus does not have enough buses
to provide the new service to Hawkeye Family Housing without altering its
other routes, he noted. The changes will affect the Red, Blue and Interdorm
routes as well as various shuttle services.
