IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Tickets and discounted series subscriptions for the 1997-98 Silver Anniversary season at the University of Iowa Hancher Auditorium, which went on sale by mail order in April, are now available from the Hancher box office by phone or in person.

The 1997-98 season will feature performances by top international stars in music, theater and dance including American Ballet Theatre, saxophone phenom Joshua Redman, Iowa's own Simon Estes, Australia's industrial-dance Tap Dogs, the Canadian Brass, South Africa's Ladysmith Black Mambazo, the Beaux Arts Trio, Ireland's Chieftains, the jazz duo of Chick Corea and Gary Burton, Simon Rattle conducting the City of Birmingham Symphony, the National Ballet of Canada, and the return of the evergreen Broadway hits "Cats" and "Grease."

A free brochure including information and order forms remains available by contacting the box office or the Hancher administrative offices.

In addition to series discounts of 20 percent, ticket buyers may take advantage of volume discounts by creating their own custom series of three or more events. A custom package of 3-5 events qualifies for a 10 percent discount, and a package of six or more events qualifies for a 15 percent discount.

Orders may be charged to VISA, MasterCard or American Express. UI students may charge their purchases to their university bills, and UI faculty and staff may select the option of payroll deduction.
