UI lecturer Peter Jordan analyzes evidence of life after death
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Parapsychologist Peter A. Jordan, of the "Amityville
Horror" fame, will analyze a breathtaking spectrum of sensational ghostly
encounters in a University of Iowa lecture Thursday, April 24.
"An Evening with Peter A. Jordan" will be held at 7:30 p.m. in
the Main Lounge of the Iowa Memorial Union. Admission is free and open to
the general public. The presentation is sponsored by the University Lecture
Committee in conjunction with UI RiverFest activities.
A veteran field investigator for the famed Psychical Research Foundation
located near Duke University, Jordan has doggedly pursued a trail of ghostly
phenomena stretching from New Jersey to the Pacific Northwest. He chronicles
his findings in a mind-bending video and slide presentation entitled "Ghosts."
Many of Jordan's cases - the "Amityville Horror" among his most
famous - were supplied by perplexed and often frightened individuals who contacted
him after exhausting all rational explanations. Legendary spirits that in
the form of earthquakes and eerie lights haunt railroad tracks; poltergeistry
outbreaks in New Jersey; encounters with phantom hitchhikers; and cases of
spontaneous human combustion are among the cases Jordan will discuss.
