UI Women's Resource and Action Center sponsors April activities

WRAC SPONSORS ECOFEMINISM LECTURE--Planning to celebrate Earth Week? Get an early start by attending a lecture on ecofeminism and the art of Cuban-American Ana Mendieta at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, at the Women's Resource and Action Center, 130 North Madison St.

Suzi Steffen, UI graduate student in art history, will be the speaker. The lecture is free and open to the public.

WRAC SEEKS DONATIONS FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INTERVENTION PROGRAM -- The Women's Resource and Action Center will be accepting donations from April 18 through April 25 for the Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP).

Donations may be dropped off at WRAC, located at 130 North Madison St., just east of the Iowa Memorial Union on the campus of the University of Iowa. Among the items sought are large diapers, pull-up diapers, baby lotion, sunscreen, table napkins, shampoo/conditioner, toilet paper, boy clothes (especially clothes for summer), raincoats, umbrellas, crib sheets, and facial tissues.

The donation drive will wrap up with a party at WRAC for the children from DVIP. Anyone interested in volunteering to help with the party, provide donations, or support the event financially, may contact WRAC at (319) 335-1486.

WRAC SLATES CLASS ON YOGA EXERCISES -- Stressed out with taxes? End of the semester sneaking up on you? Come relax by learning some Yoga at the Women's Resource and Action Center on the campus of the University of Iowa.

Lea Haravon will lead a class on Yoga exercises and stretches at noon on Tuesday, April 15 at WRAC, located at 130 North Madison St. Participants are encouraged wear loose-fitting clothes.
