I-CASH offers grants for community-based farm safety projects
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Iowa's Center for Agricultural Safety and Health (I-CASH)
is offering financial support to communities interested in developing and
implementing farm youth safety and health projects in Iowa.
Two grants, up to $2,500 each, will be awarded. One grant will be given for
a project focusing on preventing children's exposures to farm chemicals. The
other grant is for a project that promotes child care activities related to
the prevention of youth injuries on the farm.
I-CASH is a partnership between the University of Iowa, Iowa State University,
the Iowa Department of Public Health and the Iowa Department of Agriculture
and Land Stewardship. Its mission is to establish programs and provide funding
for projects that improve the health and safety of farm families, farm workers
and the agricultural community.
The deadline for applications is Feb. 14. Projects should be implemented by
